From the Locker Room to the Board Room

Transitioning from athlete to business man, Raheem Brock returns to Philadelphia for his 6th annual charity weekend.

As a graduate of Dobbins High School, Super Bowl winning Defensive End, Raheem Brock, has come a long way. After 11 successful seasons in the NFL, the Philadelphia native is now transitioning from elite athlete to savvy businessman.

Committed to his nonprofit work in the inner cities of Philadelphia, Brock is kicking off the summer by hosting his 6th annual charity weekend. A product of the Raheem Brock Foundation, the weekend will host a number of exciting events all in support of providing academic and athletic opportunities to children that otherwise might not have them. “I would not be where I am without the support I had; it’s only right that I try to do the same thing for others,” Brock tells me as we sit around the conference table at 3BG Marketing Solutions.

Beginning on Friday, June 8th, the weekend starts at Dobbins High School where Brock will be participating in a panel discussion. With a kickoff time of 11am, the discussion will focus on how students can achieve a variety of goals: athletic, social and, most importantly, academic. As a graduate of the Fox School of Business at Temple University, Brock knows all too well the importance of a solid education. The day will end with a visit to Shriners Hospital for Children.

Saturday the 9th begins at the Temple University football field with a friendly game of flag football. Starting at 9:30am, Brock will be joined by Dobbins alumni and NFL friends to highlight the fact that a well-rounded life includes not only academics, but athletics.

Immediately following the game, Brock will be celebrating the grand opening of his new restaurant, Brock’s Wings. Located directly across from the Temple campus on Broad Street, the celebration starts at 2pm.

Things are just getting started Saturday night at the Chart House where, in addition to celebrating his birthday, Brock will be joined by NFL friends, family, and anyone else willing to contribute to a worthwhile cause. Officially dubbed the Gemini Gala, the event will be hosted by actor, Lance Gross, and feature a performance by R&B artist, DANNi. With a start time of 10:30pm, you can be sure people will be enjoying themselves well into the night.

Tickets to the Gemini Gala can be purchased in person at PNK Elephant or Brocks Wings, or online at the Raheem Brock Foundation.
