The Kisses for Kyle Foundation is a charity which benefits children and families within the Delaware Valley. With beliefs that the entire family is affected when a child is battling cancer, Kisses for Kyle provides any services needed. Financially they assist with bills, including, home mortgages, car payments, utilities, wigs, food, funeral cost, etc. Other donations come in the form of gifts which children and families may request on birthdays and holidays.
Sharon Snyder founded this organization specifically to honor the memory of herson Kyle, who was just two years old when he lost his battle to cancer. Following his death of leukemia, Sharon sought out a plan to help others struggling through similar situations. She devotes all her time to a foundation dedicated to absorbing some of the stress brought on by this disease.
On Wednesday March 21, 2012 The Philadelphia Flyers and Ice Girls joined forced with Kisses for Kyle creating an unforgettable evening for these children and their families. Play2 in Chickie’s & Pete’s housed many of the Delaware Valley’s most inspired and inspiring people. Music was provided by DJ Mike Menschner creating an eclectic ambiance for the night. Current Flyers Matt Read & Claude Giroux signed autographs for a small donation. Towards the end of the evening I sat down on-on-one with the families of children who are battling cancer. Angelina Ferraro who is just 4 years old was diagnosed 2 years ago. Also in attendance was 12 year old Rebecca Poulton (who was diagnosed in 2004) and mother Georgeanne Stoeckle. Georgeanne expressed her gratitude to Sharon Snyder and Mike Barnes (who planned the event) saying they are very supportive. She and family appreciate all aspects of the organizations including gifts during the holidays and birthdays, the friendships, endless support and Kisses for Kyle’s passion to help.
