For those who don't know Rap City was originally started in West Philadelphia showcasing Philadelphia's most influential artist of that time, including The Fresh Prince and Dj Jazzy Jeff, Schooly D, and E-vette Money. It was 1988 WHYY when producers, Glenn Holsten and Lisa Marie Russo produced Rap City with only a $6,000 budget.
Last night, The Philadelphia Independent Film and Video Association brought the 1988 episode of Rap City to viewers at L'Etage. Everyone had a chance to meet the director Glenn Holsten, and he didn't show up alone. The panel of Philly legends included Schooly D, E-vette Money, and radio personality Lady B. Through a panel of questions, they brought the audience back to 1988 with funny stories about Will Smith, Lady B, Schooly D-making his own rules
