Talk about straight geeking, Tuesday night TLA hosted the Rock The Bells Presents Tour featuring Mobb Deep, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah and Cappadonna. The show was hard hitting and packed with hip hop heads, looking to get a glimpse of Mobb Deep, and just about any Wu Tang member they could get their hands on. Opening acts Writtenhouse and Apollo the Great warmed the crowd up, along with --Wu Tang approved--rapper Supernatural, who executed masterful impersonations of Slick Rick, Busta Rhymes, Biggie and a freestyle inspired by random items, from the pockets of the crowd.
Mobb Deep chin checked classic like "Quiet Storm", "Shook Ones" and "Survival of The Fittest", and after over a decade in the business a swole ass Prodigy--who just did a three year bid for weapons possession--.and Havoc rocked the crowd, kicking off the legend portion of the show.
Raekwon, Ghostface and Cappadona came through like gangbusters, and let loose Wu bangers and individual hits like "Ice Cream", "Cream" and "Chez La Ghost". The hip hop gods gave a high energy performance and had hardcore bboys screaming like girls, trying to request any and every hit they could think of.
This tour is just a fraction of the dopeness that the Rock The Bells Festival will bring in September, but trust me, cats got their wigs pushed back!
