In nearly 100 years, Scotch has evolved from a purely local restorative, aimed at getting the poorly-fed, badly-housed population through hard days and cold nights, to a major export of the UK, and the equal of any spirit in the world.
The production of Scotch has become so refined that Professor R. J. S. McDowall, the great authority on Scotch Whisky, once wrote that whiskies “are almost as numerous and varied as the wines of France,” and the more one explores, the truer his remark proves to be.
Certifying Professor McDowall’s comments, the City of Philadelphia is proud to host the Single Malt Scotch & Whisky Extravaganza for its tenth year in a row.
Held at the historic Union League on Friday, October 28th, the extravaganza will feature over 110 rare and delicate single malt and Scotch whiskies. The evening will also include a dinner buffet as well as a variety of premium imported cigars.
With the opportunity to sample a robust range of some of the most prestigious single malt, premium Scotch, Irish and Japanese whiskies, all in attendance will be introduced to the full range of exquisite Scotch and whiskey spirits.
For the interested, amateur consumer, the extravaganza will provide access to some of the most knowledgeable professionals in the field.
Event registration begins at 7:00pm. Event from 7-9pm.
The Union League Club has a dress code. Jackets are required and denim and athletic attire are not permitted in the venue.
